schwinn-1

Recently we were digging around through old stuff in the garage and came across this old 1960s Schwinn. It was a bike that had been laying around in the rafters of my grandmother’s garage for who knows how long just collecting dust and rust. So my grandmother decided to go and take it to a local shop to get it restored.  Now the wheels roll and the pedals turn. The coaster brake still somewhat works, and the fenders rub on the tires a little. It would probably be a complete death trap if anyone tried to really ride it, but it’s fun to see how much in cycling hasn’t really changed.

I did end up riding it around the block just for kicks. Such and old bike really makes you feel like a bit of a kid again. It’s a new toy, but it’s older than dirt.
